Meet the Team
Paul is passionate about analytics and how it can impact the world around us. This enthusiasm has been honed by 20 years of using analytics in a range of senior leadership roles across a variety of industries. A common interest in sport and data brought Paul and Jason together back in 2009 to build and sell their first venture. One of Paul’s strengths is to hear the problems faced by business leaders and decision-makers in their own words and link that to potential approaches to find solutions. This is backed by a proven ability to recruit, grow and encourage high-performing analytics teams.
Jason has spent much of his professional career assembling evidence to tell stories. Jason had 15 years experience in creatively solving problems with Y&R advertising as their National Ideas Director before setting up DOT with Paul in 2014. One of Jason's strengths is his ability to simplify and link complex data and analytic concepts. This drives meaningful engagement with leaders and decision-makers by growing their understanding of what is possible in their own words. Jason is also a board member for Cricket Wellington, Cricket Museum, EightyOne and a selector for the White Ferns.
Dr. Tamsyn Hilder is an award-winning researcher, earning the Young Australian Biophysicist of the Year Award in 2012. Her bread and butter is creating pragmatic solutions, dealing with massive, complex and disparate data sources and her machine learning expertise has been instrumental in bringing DOT products to market.
Dr. Holly Trowland sets her sights high, with a PhD in astrophysics. With years of experience working in analytics in public health and beyond, she’s one stellar data scientist that heads up our services team.

His journey has seen him operating across the Asia Pacific region leading accounts for household brands, like adidas, and working with well-renowned agencies, like Saatchi & Saatchi. Matt’s foray into the data world began with conversations with whom he describes as "two of the most innovative thinkers in modern analytics", Paul and Jason, recognising that they needed help with delivery to market of new thinking. This tapped into Matt’s entrepreneurial spirit and brought him to DOT right from the word go.
Mike bridges the worlds of digital, data and marketing. He started his professional career with Accenture in New Zealand and London before working with Kiwibank and the New Zealand Post Group in a variety of General Management positions.
