MfE needed a better way to report and display its carbon emissions data in real-time, improve transparency across business units and executive management, and scale reporting across the organisation. They also wanted a dashboard that could be displayed within their intranet. MfE lacked the available personnel resources in Power BI reporting to create the dashboard on their own, leading them to seek assistance from Dot Loves Data.

Dot Loves Data worked closely with MfE’s Sustainability Advisor to create a wireframe for the dashboard design. From there, we jointly developed the data architecture and prototype, built the final dashboard, and handed over the data model to MfE. Throughout the process, we incorporated feedback from MfE to ensure that the final product met their needs and requirements.

As a result of Dot Loves Data’s work, MfE was able to achieve its goals, including improving workload efficiency and providing greater transparency through real-time reporting. Whereas the carbon emission reporting had previously taken MfE’s Sustainability Advisor two weeks to complete, it was reduced to a 5 minute task! The dashboard now allows MfE to scale its carbon emissions reporting across the organisation and display the data within its intranet, achieving greater transparency. This successful outcome demonstrates the value of partnering with experts like Dot Loves Data to achieve organizational goals and improve reporting and transparency.
